Week 4 Fantasy Football
Dynasty Download

October 03, 2022

On a weekly basis, the Fantasy Beast will be providing a Dynasty Download article to our readers. This will be an article 100% dedicated to Dynasty leagues, and will include news, notes, and players you should keep an eye on.

This weeks article talks about knowing your league. A reoccurring theme you will hear us discuss is knowing when you are competing or rebuilding. With 4 weeks into the season, that should be clear to each manager. Whether a team is competing or rebuilding, they are both perfect targets when it comes to trading assets.

COMPETING TEAMS

These are teams that are trying to win it all this year. If you are a rebuilding team, then you should target the competing teams by sending them trade offers involving aging players whose dynasty future is skeptical. These typically involve players whose 2022 value is still solid, but beyond that is in question. The same goes for those who are competing. Do not be afraid to go after those rebuilding teams to acquire assets that can assist with winning this year. The whole point of playing fantasy football is to WIN - so don't be afraid to give up future assets to do so now.

Below are a few players that Competing teams should try to acquire, and Rebuilding teams should try to trade away. Each of these players have value in the 2022 season making them an appealing asset to any competing team. Though a rebuilding team is selling these players, that does not mean they need to sale them for cheap. Check out these players age as they are nearing a threshold in which their long term value is small

  1. Travis Kelce - age 33; Tight End

  2. Keenan Allen - age 30; Wide Receiver

  3. Derrick Henry - age 28; Running Back

  4. Dalvin Cook - age 27; Running Back

  5. Austin Ekeler - age 27; Running Back

  6. Aaron Jones - age 27; Running Back

  7. Leonard Fournette - age 27; Running Back

  8. Kareem Hunt - age 27; Running Back

  9. James Conner - age 27; Running Back

  10. Alvin Kamara - age 27; Running Back

  11. Nick Chubb - age 26; Running Back

  12. Ezekiel Elliott - age 26; Running Back

REBUILDING TEAMS

These are teams that are needing to start planning for the future. The goal of these teams is to acquire younger talent and future draft picks to establish a roster that can compete down the road. If they have any of the players listed above, try to use them to acquire future picks or younger talent.

Another strategy is to target younger wide receivers. The NFL lifespan of a receiver typically spans several years longer than the life span of a running back. Below are a few players that Rebuilding teams should try to acquire. These players age and value are both lower than the above list. You will also notice that many of the players below are unproven talent, so you should be able to get some (not all) on the cheap.

  1. Wan'Dale Robinson - age 21; Wide Receiver

  2. David Bell - age 21; Wide Receiver

  3. Jahan Dotson - age 22; Wide Receiver

  4. Isiah Pacheco - age 22; Running Back

  5. Daniel Bellinger - age 22; Tight End

  6. Joshua Palmer - age 23; Wide Receiver

  7. Gabe Davis - age 23; Wide Receiver

  8. Nico Collins - age 23; Wide Receiver

  9. K.J. Hamler - age 23; Wide Receiver

  10. Kenneth Gainwell - age 23; Running Back

  11. Brandon Aiyuk - age 24; Wide Receiver

  12. K.J. Osborn - age 25; Wide Receiver

Also, if you are somehow able to acquire any of the below assets, DO SO. If you currently have any of these players on your roster, try to HOLD THEM as their fantasy value should be great for several years to come.

  1. Justin Jefferson - age 23; Wide Receiver

  2. Ja'Marr Chase - age 22; Wide Receiver

  3. A.J. Brown - age 25; Wide Receiver

  4. Jaylen Waddle - age 23; Wide Receiver

  5. DeVonta Smith - age 23; Wide Receiver

  6. Deebo Samuel - age 26; Wide Receiver

Overall, know where you currently sit in your Dynasty league. If you are Competing, go ALL IN. Grab assets that can assist you with winning now. If you are Rebuilding, don't waste your time holding onto aging assets. Flip them for future picks and younger talent.
