Fantasy Beast Mode MVPs

September 7, 2022

What is a Beast Mode MVP? This is not necessarily someone that will simply win you a week, or someone expected to crush it in fantasy. This is a list of guys that we feel should be drafted without concern, can outperform their ADP, and have a chance to bring you home that fantasy title you crave.

Below is an MVP at each position, and you shouldn't think twice about drafting them.

Derrick Henry
Tennessee Titans
Running Back

Derrick Henry, a no-brainer Beast MVP right? Henry is obviously a perennial running back, and a player capable of winning you the fantasy week. We have him listed as a Beast Mode MVP strictly because we think he can end the season as the RB1. There is a lot of concern surrounding Henry, as their should be. He is going into his age 28 season, he is coming off of a devastating foot injury, and nobody has received more carries in the league than Henry in the past 3 seasons. This MVP pick is to inform our readers to not be scared.

In 2021, Henry was averaging 24 points per game through the first 8 weeks of the season. Prior to his injury, he was the RB1, with nobody in sight to overtake him from that position. His foot injury, though season ending, is not something that should linger into 2022. Do not hesitate to take Henry with one of your first 3 picks in 2022.

Courtland Sutton
Denver Broncos
Wide Receiver

Courtland Sutton has played his entire career with mediocre quarter back play. Despite never having a quarterback to provide him with reliable targets, Sutton has managed to show sparks of greatness, and providing game winning weeks. Now that Russel Wilson is in town, it is time for Sutton to take that next step in his career. All of the talk out of Denver is that Sutton is the clear cut #1 over Jeudy and Hamler, and is expected to be peppered with targets. The beauty of Sutton is that he is currently being drafted in the late 4th round. Don't let him get past you - he could be a league winning value. We have Sutton as a WR1 on the season.

Jalen Hurts
Philadelphia Eagles
Quarter Back

Jalen Hurts has everything he needs to be a top quarterback in 2022. Last year, he finished as the QB9, despite not having any stand out wide receiving options on the roster. In the off season, the Eagles added AJ Brown to the team, which should bolster Hurts' passing production. With the combination of Brown, 2nd year receiver DeVonta Smith, and tight end Dallas Goedert, Hurts should see a large uptick in passing attempts this year. You couple that with his rushing base line, and Hurts is one of the few quarterbacks capable of finishing as QB1 on the season.

Kyle Pitts
Atlanta Falcons
Running Back

Despite only scoring 1 TD in 2021, Kyle Pitts still managed to finish as the TE6 in PPR leagues. What we love about Pitts is that more often than not, he is lining up as a wide receiver in the offense. Outside of rookie Drake London, there are very few competing receiving options on the team. Expect the Falcons to pepper him with targets this year, as well a positive regression in the touch down category. It would not surprise us if Pitts ended the season with 100+ catches and the TE1 on the season.
