5 Dynasty Buy Low Candidates

August 26, 2022

Dynasty is all about timing, and knowing where you sit compared to other members in your league. You should enter every season knowing that you are ready to Compete or Rebuild (please see our
Fantasy 101 article for more details).. Below are 6 players that you should look to Buy Low in Dynasty formats.

Aaron Jones
Green Bay Packers

Green Bay was part of one of the largest transactions over the offseason by departing ways with Davante Adams to the Los Vegas Raiders. This opens up a ton of targets on the team - 169 in total. There is no doubt that the emergence of AJ Dillon will eat into Jone's carry count, however, expect Jones to receive a large percentage of those unaccounted for targets in 2022. The Packers did not add a lot of weapons to their team this offseason, which means they are relying upon Jones to pick up a lot of that workload.

WHY BUY LOW?
People our down on Jones as he is going into his age 27 season, and it is believed that the offense as a whole will take a hit with the departure of Adams. If you are a contender, take advantage of this, and add him onto your roster.

Chase Edmonds
Miami Dolphins

Over the offseason, Chase Edmonds was the first big name player to be picked up off of free agency. Edmonds, a pass catching back, is stepping into a position as the lead back in an offense that is filled with high profile weapons. The WR duo in Tyreek and Jaylen Waddle is one of the best in the NFL, so this offense is expected to have a lot more scoring opportunities than the previous years.

WHY BUY LOW?
Edmonds has never been a volume guy. In Arizona, he made his mark as a pass catching back and making big plays. Now, as the lead back on an expected good offense, take a shot on the current dip in his value.

Brandin Cooks
Houston Texans

All Cooks has done his entire career is finish as a top 20 wide received and 1,000 yards year end out - and 2021 was no exception. Not only does Cooks do this every year, he does it with different quarterback play. Mark it down, in 2022 you can expect 1,000+ yards and 6+ TDs, despite being in one of the worst offenses in the NFL. Davis Mills had moments last year in which he showed he deserves to be a quarterback in the NFL, and if that progress continues, it means even better things for Cooks season.

WHY BUY LOW?

Cooks is an aging receiver, and has always been seen as more of a commodity than a necessity. Going into his age 29 season, on arguably the worst offense in football, and is tied to a quarterback that is not seen as elite. If you are a contender, do not be afraid to send an early 2nd rounder the Cooks owner's way to try and scoop him up

Allen Robinson
Los Angeles Chargers

This one is tough, as anyone who had a share of Allen Robinson in 2021 are sure to never want a part of him again. Robinson did not hurt fantasy owners last year, he destroyed them - he never had a game over 9 fantasy points. This is the perfect recipe to buy him now. Understandably so, Robinson's value is at an all-time low. He was tied to some of the worst quarterback play in the league in 2021, and he seemed very unenthusiastic to be on the field.

WHY BUY LOW?

Robinson has never had an elite quarterback in his 8 season in the NFL - one could even say that he has never even had a good quarterback. That being said, he has managed to put up prolific numbers despite bad quarterback play for the majority of his career. He now steps into a situation in which he has an elite, super bowl winning QB in Matthew Stafford, and elite WR beside him in Cooper Kupp, and nobody else on the WR roster to put his position in jeopardy. I am very excited to see Robinson shine in a pass friendly system in which all of the eyes are not on him.

Darnell Mooney
Chicago Bears

He's young, he's the WR1 on his team, and a top 24 WR in fantasy last year. All of these make Mooney a winner in 2021. However, he is on one of the worst offenses in the NFL and tied to a quarterback that was incredibly inaccurate last year. Those negatives are why Mooney's stock is incredibly down. He is currently being drafted in the 7th round in redraft leagues, despite have WR1 upside.

WHY BUY LOW?
He is a speedster that should see north of 100 targets next season. Justin Fields is going to target Mooney often, and he has the ability to break off a long play to win you a week. Mooney is one of the rare young up and comers that could be a breakout athlete as soon as next year. I would be buying this dip as a contender or rebuilder.
